of me. I glanced over. It was JerRic.

“Hey.” JerRic smiled. “Need a ride?”

“Sure.” I shrugged and got in. I looked in the backseat. “Where's your sister?”

“Dylan's picking her up when he gets Teddy. Tag Team.” JerRic grinned.

“Do you guys live close to each other too?” I buckled my seat belt.

“Yeah.” JerRic smirked.

“Thanks for the ride.” I smiled.

“No problem.” JerRic put the car back in gear. He usually made sure he gave me a ride when it was raining. Today it was sunny, so it was a little out of character for him. He turned up the music and drove the few blocks to my house.

“Thanks.” I smiled when his car came to a stop.

JerRic turned down the music. “No problem. Anytime.”

I opened the door.

“Hey.” He reached for my wrist.

I stopped.

“If you need me, you call okay?” JerRic's eyes were serious.

I nodded.

“You know about the... or whatever.” JerRic's eyes didn't leave mine.

“Thanks.” I nodded.

Sometimes Jer would text Sunday night to make sure he didn't forget an assignment, but we didn't really talk much outside of school.

“See ya tomorrow.” JerRic was quieter than normal.

“Yeah, first thing.” I grinned.

“Who has science first thing?” JerRic made a face.

I nodded my head. “I still don't get why we need this class.”

“That or Bio. I had that last year and it was horrible. ” JerRic let out a deep breath. “Between the two, give me chemistry anytime.” His grin was mischievous.

I shook my head. He'd told me more than once that we had chemistry together. He usually laughed afterwards.
