I took a chance and went to a French café yesterday to study with a group of French students. Do you know how much studying we did in the three hours we were in the French cafe? We studied for about fifteen minutes-fifteen minutes! It's harder for me I think because French is not my native language, so it takes me a little longer to translate the text. On the other hand, maybe I just worry more about tests! Either way, I learned yesterday after wasting three hours of study time, that until the French exams are over my friends are my worst enemies!

La Seule Chose que Je Veux Pour Noël C'est de Terminer les Partiels…
Les vacances de Noël approchent à grands pas mais pour passer de bonnes vacances, je me dois de réussir mes partiels…
Les partiels sont les examens que passent les étudiants qui font des études supérieures.
Et en général, les premiers examens ont lieu avant les vacances de Noël.
Ensuite vient la deuxième session des partiels qui a lieu en mai.
Ce n’est pas très réjouissant mais au moins on a l’impression de mériter le repos et les cadeaux qui arrivent pour la fin de l’année !
Je déteste cette période car toute l’ambiance de Noël est présente mais on doit réviser, et réviser toujours, pour obtenir de bons résultats.
C’est surtout les révisions qui sont désagréables, pas vraiment les partiels en soi.
A cette période, on peut plus facilement voir les étudiantes et les étudiants réviser dans les cafés. Mais le mieux est peut-être de travailler à la bibliothèque pour avoir tous les outils nécessaires aux révisions.
Je sais que comme beaucoup d’étudiants, j’ai du mal à travailler chez moi car c’est très tentant de faire autre chose qu’étudier…
Personnellement, je préfère rester chez moi même si je suis tenté par une petite heure d’internet ou par de la lecture.
Mais en général il ne vaut mieux pas craquer car sinon on ne révise pas du tout !
Certaines personnes, comme nombre de mes amis préfèrent réviser à plusieurs car ils ont plus de motivation mais je sais que quand je révise avec d’autres personnes j’ai tendance à vouloir bavarder…
Vu que c’est ma dernière année scolaire, je me dis que c’est un peu la dernière ligne droite pour moi, alors j’essaye quand même de rester sérieux !
Je continue donc à réviser chez moi tout en essayant de résister aux appels des amis qui m’incitent à sortir.
Et c’est peut-être ça le plus dur !

All I Want for Christmas is for Midterm Exams to End!
Midterm exams. Christmas vacation is on its way, but to enjoy my vacation well, I have to pass my midterm exams. Les partiels are exams that college students have to take midway through the year. Generally, the first exams take place before Christmas break. Then there will be final exams in May.
It's not too delightful, but you at least feel that you've earned your break and the holiday gifts that you're going to get!
I hate this time of year because holiday ambience fills the air, but you still have to study and review to be sure you get good grades. It's the reviewing that's the tedious part, not so much the exams themselves.
During this time, you can look around and see students everywhere studying in cafes. But, the best place is probably in the library where you have everything you need at hand. Like many other students, I have a hard time studying at home, because it's so tempting to do other things besides studying.
Personally, I prefer to stay at home and let myself take a break to surf the internet a little or read a novel, but generally, it's better to resist those things or I won't get any studying done at all!
Certain people, like many of my friends, like to study in a group because they are more motivated. But, when I study with others, I tend to want to chitchat.
Since this is my last year of school, I try to tell myself it's the home stretch for me so I'll stay on track!
Therefore, I continue to study at home, all the while trying to resist calls from friends urging me to go out with them. That's probably the hardest part!
