Peanut butter and turmeric smoothie

Peanut butter brings back nostalgic feelings of mischief and giggles during recess in primary school, while we hungrily devoured our staple peanut butter sandwiches. I always favoured the crunchy variety and still enjoy the flavours as an adult. This quirky smoothie combines my childhood favourite with creamy sweet bananas, an exotic twist of golden turmeric, and sex-drive-boosting maca powder for the grown-ups.
250 ml (9 fl oz/1 cup) almond or coconut milk, or your milk of choice
1 frozen banana
1 heaped tablespoon natural peanut butter or other nut butter
1 teaspoon maca powder (optional)
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
pinch of sea salt
pinch of ground cinnamon, to serve
Whiz all the ingredients except the cinnamon in a high-speed blender or food processor until smooth. Pour into a glass, sprinkle the cinnamon on top and serve.
