12:40-41 Foundational Gratitude When the Hebrews finally left Egypt, it was the fulfillment of a promise given by God 430 years earlier. From that point onward, every detail of their daily existence—even their calendar—would revolve around their remembrance of God’s powerful deliverance. For the people of Israel, their future was designed to be a consistent reminder of God’s faithfulness in their past. We, too, can find hope in recalling God’s faithfulness to us at key moments in our lives.
