25:8-10 Set Free The Year of Jubilee celebration created anticipation. Every fifty years there would be release from debt and a returning of land that had been sold. Even the soil was given time to rejuvenate. There were no crops planted in the Year of Jubilee, so the people had to live off what the land produced on its own. Also, slaves and debtors were set free, and lenders were to forgive debts out of loving obedience to God. God cares about our freedom and financial situations, and he still has the power to help us when we cry out to him for relief.
