1:5 God’s Presence The promise of God’s presence was not just for Moses and Joshua, or for Jesus’ original followers who heard him say the words in Matthew 28:20. God is with us, too! His constant presence brings comfort when we feel alone or rejected. It can relieve pain and suffering. In both good times and bad, nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom 8:35).
1:6-9 Finding Strength Joshua’s story repeatedly reminds us to be strong and courageous, which is tied to knowing and obeying God’s Word. Scripture is a source of strength, even when we’re weak in body or spirit. Living with disabilities can drain one’s energy and resolve, but strength comes from the Lord.
