But David recognized that Saul had been chosen by the Lord to lead the people of Israel, and that the Lord was not lacking for options. Trusting the Lord, even when his promises don’t seem to be coming true, requires patience and a deep, abiding confidence in him. Such confidence does not come easy, but it can be nurtured.
