3:1-32 Community Nehemiah 3 describes the systematic rebuilding of the wall section by section and names those doing the work. Ministry was always intended to be done in community. The New Testament often uses the Greek word koinonia, meaning “communion” or “fellowship,” to describe the ministry of the church (Acts 2:42; 2 Cor 8:4; Phlm 1:6). When people experience life-changing or disabling circumstances, ongoing community (fellowship) is the greatest expression of love and support they can receive.
