14:7-14 Eternal Life Job speculated on whether or not a person would live again after death. The image of the stump sprouting again and giving new life led him to ask: “Can the dead live again?” This is a thought that he struggles to believe in light of his suffering (14:15-22), but he returns to it in 19:25-27. It gave him hope and suggested a resurrection to new life described more fully in 1 Corinthians 15.
