39:13-18 Ode to the Ostrich Why did God create the ostrich? It is a strange bird. It has feathers but can’t fly, lays eggs but can’t remember where, and treats its young cruelly. But all of creation—even the incomprehensible ostrich—is part of God’s intentional and wise plan. Unlike the ostrich that forgets where she laid her egg, God had not forgotten where he placed Job; rather, he had Job exactly where he wanted him.
