103:8-13 God’s Unfailing Love Far from portraying God as unsympathetic and untouched by our suffering, Scripture stresses his deep and devoted compassion for us. Because his character is unchanging, his love toward us remains constant—“unfailing” (103:11). And because his love for us never fails, he is always “compassionate and merciful” (103:8) rather than angry and accusatory. His unending mercy is a secure and dependable anchor—both when we falter and when we suffer unjustly.
