30:18 Faithful Waiting God’s people sometimes wonder why he is not more proactive in seeking them out and fixing their problems. But in this passage, Isaiah says that God must wait for his people to come to him in order to bless them. God is always faithfully waiting, but we need to acknowledge him before we can experience his goodness.
30:20 God’s Presence God’s people are often tempted to put their trust in visible security, like the swift horses of Egypt or bulging bank accounts. Experiencing adversity can remind us of our true dependence on the Lord’s provision. Isaiah reminds us that God will be present even in the midst of suffering, teaching us and gently leading us on his path.
