43:1-4 I Will Be with You God never promises a life free from suffering, but he guarantees that he will accompany Israel in their hardships. When we feel submerged in pain, scorched by trouble, consumed with loneliness, or drowning in despair, God is there and promises to preserve us. This assurance is ultimately guaranteed by the presence of the Holy Spirit, poured out on all Christians (John 14:16).
