4:19-22 Looming Disaster Jeremiah was in anguish, writhing in pain at the thought of the disaster that awaited God’s people. They were doing business as usual, ignoring Jeremiah’s tearful warnings. Have you considered that the contemporary church might be in a similar situation? Christians are being murdered because of their faith around the world, and some societies no longer seem to tolerate Christian values even if they aren’t murdering Christians. Do we hear Scripture’s warning? How much time do we spend weeping in prayer for Christ’s church and our fellow believers?
