16:49 Suffering Outside Our Doors Ezekiel says that the ancient city of Sodom (Gen 19:1-28) was marked by the sins of “pride, gluttony, and laziness, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door”—not the sins we usually think of when we hear the name of this city! We must consider whether we are guilty of these same sins today. People suffer outside the doors of our churches, hoping someone will care and come help—it can be something as simple as providing a ride to church. There is always something we can do, if we are willing to look.
