2:1-13 Hope for the Oppressed Nahum’s message was unpleasant in many ways. Nevertheless, it was a message of hope to those in Judah who suffered under the oppression of vicious foreign invasion. In the midst of their trial, they clung to God’s truth that flowed from the mouth of his prophet. We, too, can cling to this truth; God hears the voices of the oppressed and acts on their behalf.
