20:30-31 The Purpose for the Gospel John reveals the reason for writing his Gospel. We have followed Jesus as he ministered to all types of people, performed miracles, taught, died on a cross, and finally came back to life. For those who don’t know Jesus, John wants them to believe. For those who are already followers of Jesus, he desires that they be encouraged to continue to believe. Jesus demonstrated his love by dying for us. Whether rich or poor; suffering or comfortable; disabled, sick, or whole, Jesus’ story demands a response.
