13:1-8, 13 The Greatest Gift of All God’s love is complete, unconditional, eternal, and personal. Paul painted a picture of God’s love and called the church in Corinth to love one another as God loved them. In all our relationships—whether with our parents, siblings, spouse, children, coworkers, or brothers and sisters in the Lord—we are to live out God’s love by bearing one another’s burdens, keeping no record of wrongs, and enduring through every circumstance.

13:9-12 Faulty Vision Our perceptions now are cloudy, even childish at times. We do not always see ourselves and others as God sees us: wonderfully complex (Ps 139:14). When we see Christ at last, we will see more clearly that we are all disabled by sin. Until that time, we take great comfort in knowing that our heavenly Father knows each one of us completely and yet, astonishingly, still loves us.
