H olding the Hook

Using the hand you usually write with — your “hook hand” — grip the flattened part of the hook between your thumb and forefinger as though it were a pencil, with the hook facing down. Your thumb should be around 5cm/2” away from the tip of the hook.

Left Handed crocheters: hold the hook the exact same way in your left hand.
