T
reble Crochet Stitch
(USA stitch name: Double Crochet Stitch)
Step 1:
To start the stitch, and as you did to start a half treble, wrap the yarn over the hook (yrh) before you go into the chain. Then insert your hook into the fourth chain along from the hook. Yarn over hook (yrh) again, then pull through the chain.
Step 2:
You now have three loops on your hook.
Step 3:
Yarn over hook (yrh), then pull hook through two of the loops only.
Step 4:
You now have two loops on your hook.
Step 5:
Yarn over hook (yrh), then pull hook through the two loops.
Step 6:
You now have one loop remaining and have now completed your first treble stitch!
Step 7:
Continue by working a treble stitch into each chain until you reach the end.
Step 8:
Now make a “turning chain”– for this stitch you need to chain 3 (ch 3) before each new row. Now turn your work around so that you are ready to begin the next row. Then it’s yarn over hook (yrh), slip your hook under the very next stitch, and pull through. Then continue from Step 2.
