About Ted Rall

Pulitzer Prize finalist and twice-winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, cartoonist and writer Ted Rall is one of America’s most widely syndicated journalists. To Afghanistan and Back is Rall’s eighth book, coming on the heels of the widely-acclaimed graphic novel 2024 and the influential political manifesto Revenge of the Latchkey Kids. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and raised in Kettering, Ohio, Rall graduated from Columbia University with honors in history in 1991. His trips overland from Beijing to Istanbul and along the Karakoram Highway in Kashmir were chronicled in pieces for P.O.V. magazine; Rall’s journey to Afghanistan was his fifth adventure in Central Asia. His “Stan Watch,” a summary and analysis of Central Asian news, has been broadcast frequently on NPR and the BBC. He lives in New York.
