When I look at the novels for which I am listed as “author,” it never ceases to amaze me that the Lord would use me to create anything, much less hundreds of thousands of words of inspirational fiction. I thank the Holy Spirit for using me as the typist to capture words He will use to minister to each reader on a personal level. What a mighty God we serve!
As this book is being published, I’m going through a very challenging season, but I am grateful in it and even for it. Why? It’s simple: God is always... already... working all things together for my good because I love Him and am called according to His purpose (see Romans 8:28). I thank Him for the prayer partners who have been standing in the gap for me. I’m also grateful to my family for rallying around my son and me. Thank you all for allowing God to use you. I couldn’t have found the strength to see this project through without you.
Dearest Kareem: my grammar consultant, my cover critique partner, my son, I appreciate your patience as I spent countless hours for more than half your life to date fleshing out the details of this book.
Mommy and Daddy Gray, thank you for your support and reassurance. I don’t take anything about you for granted. You are a tremendous blessing to all who have fallen under your sphere of influence. I thank God for you. I especially appreciate the fact that I had to search the depths of my imagination and not my memory to create Joanna Goodluck! She’s nothing like either of you. Hallelujah!
Terri Whitmire of The Writer’s Tablet Agency and Ann Marie Bryan of Victorious By Design: thank you for your professional expertise in helping me improve the story and prepare it for publication. You’re both gifts God has placed in my life “for such a time as this.”
I extend special thanks to Mikhail Francis, for his insight into the actuarial world, and to Annette Atkinson for introducing us.
Thank you also to my advance readers—Robin, Sancia, Dwayne, and my parents—I appreciate your time, effort, and feedback. God bless unu!
If I’ve missed anyone, please forgive me. That’s what happens when you leave the writing of the acknowledgments until the last minute!
May God bless and keep you all!
