Chapter Fourteen

Gabe's head was spinning, but it wasn't just from the booze. No, there was so much going on in there. So much he was thinking and feeling. So much raw emotion that had spilled over into his body and soul.

He yearned to be touched and to feel intimate with another human being. He desired to orgasm in the embrace of another, not by his own hand. Masturbation always left something to be desired, to say the least. That connection with another person, knowing you were giving pleasure as well as receiving was something that could never be replaced by getting yourself off.

He felt like he was missing out on an essential human experience, and in that moment, he wanted it more than anything. But that was where the lines between being drunk and sober got crossed. He had plenty of chances earlier, with some stunningly attractive women.

He had his pick of the litter, could have gone home with any one of them, and not a single one had aroused his interest. He knew that taking them home would only lead to failure and shame, and he wasn't in the mood to be a disappointment to anyone else today.

It wasn't until he was there, with Anthony, in close proximity to the man that he'd felt alive. Like he could perform. Well, that he could at least get it up because he was already half-hard and feeling ready to go. But there was no way he wanted to have sex with Anthony. Even being as drunk as he was, he knew he wasn't ready to cross that line. He didn't know that he really wanted to cross that line.

So instead, they sat in silence and he wondered what Anthony was thinking. After all, while Gabe had kissed him first, his kiss was a chaste kiss. The one Anthony had planted on his lips was still chaste, there was no tongue involved, but it was longer. It lingered. And Gabe had felt the intensity and passion behind it. Neither man could look the other in the eye in that moment, but neither one moved to get up either.

Finally, it was Anthony who said, “Should we maybe go join the others again?”

“Maybe in a little bit,” Gabe choked, looking down at the hard-on in his pants.

It wasn't disguised very well, and he needed it to go down before he could stand up and walk around. He hoped Anthony wouldn't protest, and was thankful when he didn't.

“Okay,” Anthony said. “But maybe we should switch to water, what do you think?”

“I think that sounds like a wonderful idea,” Gabe said. “Thank you.”

Anthony motioned for a cocktail waitress who came over wearing the standard bikini top with a skirt that barely covered her female parts. She gave Gabe a wide smile and her attention seemed focused on him as she asked them what they wanted. Again, a very attractive woman in very little clothing and it did nothing for Gabe. Instead, his eyes were on Anthony without even realizing it.

Anthony requested the two waters and leaned back in the seat, eyes closed.

“Are you feeling okay?” Gabe asked.

Neither man seemed to want to talk about what just happened and that was fine with Gabe. He licked his lips and it felt like he could still taste Anthony. His dick responded by growing harder and pushing up against the zipper of his pants again. He adjusted, slowly, hoping Anthony wouldn't notice.

The other man opened his eyes and glanced in his direction, but didn't look down at the raging erection that felt like it was about to burst through his jeans. Thankfully, not.

“I'd feel great if the room would stop spinning,” he said with a laugh.

Gabe couldn't help but smile.

“Same here,” he said. “We really can't drive back home tonight. You know that, right?”

“I figured as much,” Anthony said. “It's almost closing time and we're both still pretty hammered.”

“Think we can pick the car up in the morning?” Gabe asked. “We can walk to my place.”

But what happens then, Gabe wondered? Would Anthony need to stay the night? And if so, where would he sleep? The idea of sharing a bed, like really sharing a bed with him, caused even more action down below.

He wanted to curse at himself for having these thoughts, but it wouldn't do any good. His brain wasn't straight tonight, and he feared what he would do if given the chance.

Still, Anthony was in no shape to drive home in his current situation. And Gabe would never put him in a dangerous position.

“I think so,” Anthony said. “I can check with the valet in a bit. I doubt it'll be a problem though, we just need to pay for parking.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Gabe said. The cocktail waitress served them their waters and told them it was last call. Neither of them wanted anything but water, so that was fine with them.

“Maybe we should find the rest of the gang? We've been hanging out by ourselves most of the night.”

Anthony sighed. He looked ready to fall asleep in the booth. “Yeah, we probably should. At least to say our goodbyes before heading to your place.”

They went in search of the others. Clyde, who should’ve been annoyed at his two stars for wandering off by themselves for a long period of time looked pleased. He patted them both on the back and introduced them to a few more friends of his. At this point, Gabe was just about done with being social, but he put on a star performance, smiling for the cameras one last time before they told everyone they were leaving.

“You're leaving together?” Clyde asked in front of everyone, a playful grin upon his face.

Gabe nodded. “We're both too wasted to drive, so we're walking to my place. It's just down the street.”

He knew very well that everyone around them would draw their own conclusions, especially considering what the media was already saying, but so be it. He wasn't up to dispelling rumors at the moment. And that's just what they were – rumors.

“Be safe you guys,” Clyde said, walking them out. “And have fun.”

Gabe wasn't interested in arguing with him and telling him all he wanted to do was sleep. It wasn't worth it. Gabe waved goodbye as he and Anthony walked out of the club and toward his apartment.
