Canadian Space Agency
Government Established in March 1989, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) was created through an Act of Parliament to meet the needs of Canadians for scientific knowledge, space technology and information. Overall, the CSA has about 670 employees with approximately 90 percent of them employed at the John H. Chapman Space Centre, the agency’s headquarters. CSA directs its resources and activities through four key programs:

David Florida Laboratory
The David Florida Laboratory (DFL) is Canada’s world-class spacecraft assembly, integration and testing center located in Ottawa. On a fee-for-service basis, the DFL is available for use by Canadian and foreign aerospace and telecommunications companies and organizations for qualifying hardware. It is registered as ISO 9001:2008 for radio frequency, structural, and thermal qualification testing of space bound and terrestrial hardware. Support facilities include offices, conference rooms, storage areas, check-out rooms, and inhouse mechanical, electrical and electronic shops.

Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute
The Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute is a nonprofit professional scientific and technical organization devoted to the advancement of the art, science and engineering of aeronautics, astronautics and associated technologies in Canada. CASI holds conferences, workshops, and symposia; and sponsors the Charles Luttman and Elvie L. Smith scholarships.

McGill University Institute of Air & Space Law
For more than 50 years, the institute has been offering an intensive program of graduate studies in international and comparative air law and, since 1957, in the law of space applications. More than 800 students from over 120 different countries successfully completed their graduate studies and obtained the Graduate Certificate in Air and Space Law (originally Diploma in Air and Space Law), the Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree, or the Doctor of Civil Law (DCL) degree.

York University Lassonde School of Engineering
Offers the only space science program in Canada providing courses to students interested in a career in spacecraft design, scientific design, space exploration, space and satellite technology, or in the study of the atmosphere through the use of satellites, rockets, and other space vehicles. The school also offers a bachelor of engineering degree that will train in the technologies used in satellite and space missions while providing a grounding in applied mathematics, physics, and computer sciences.
