My husband and I have walked down a road that many other couples have walked down, struggling to find solutions to combat the sexual giant of pornography in his life. It is a lonely road filled with tears, deception, and confusion; but if you keep walking, it leads to freedom and victory. I am convinced that if it were not for my husband’s unquenchable thirst for truth, we would have ended up defeated on the side of the road, like many couples that have walked this path before us.
When Jonathan hit rock bottom, he found himself confused, scared, and without any answers to help him climb out of the pit. In search for healing, however, he simply refused to accept the mantra that many Christian psychologists and therapists dished up: You are an addict, you are powerless to help yourself, you need accountability, you are depraved, and you are in a never-ending battle with your flesh.
Although, at times, I wished he would just “crucify his flesh,” I am so thankful now that he did not accept these lies! Jonathan knew enough to know that this was not the freedom Christ promised us in His Word. He began a quest to find real answers that would bring lasting freedom. The book you hold in your hands is the blood, sweat, and tears of one man’s journey from brokenness to healing and life, and the truths that set him free.
I know these truths work because I saw the transformation with my own eyes: from a scared, cold, and defeated man, to a powerful, vulnerable, and transparent husband. I invite you to experience this same revolution in your own heart. The road ahead is not easy. In fact, it was the hardest thing we have ever walked through in our lives, but the reward of freedom is worth the battle.
If you are ready to take control of your own life, rule over your mind, and open your heart to love again, we invite you on this journey with us. The truths contained herein will counter everything else you have heard from modern clinical therapy, and even popular Christian theology. No matter what addiction you are struggling with, the joy and freedom that Christ purchased for you at the cross is not only available, but obtainable. Today.
We have a choice. We will either believe who satan says we are, or who God says we are. Satan says you are depraved, guilty, and hopeless. God declares you righteous, honorable, and holy in Christ. As a wife, I encourage every woman to give this book to the men in your life. You have the opportunity to declare God’s identity over your husbands, brothers, and sons. Then read it yourself and let it set you free from shame, fear, condemnation, as it did me!
It is time to leave fear behind and step into our God-given identities as sons and daughters of God. May you be transformed, strengthened, and inspired by these truths!
In Christ,
KAREN WELTON
