Shepherd’s Pie

Makes 4 to 6 servings

2 lbs. ground beef

1/2 onion, chopped

.75-oz. pkg. brown gravy mix

2 10-3/4 oz. cans cream of mushroom soup

2-1/2 c. water

salt and pepper to taste

2-1/2 to 3 c. potatoes, peeled, boiled and mashed

8-oz. pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain; pour into a bowl. Stir in gravy mix, soup and water; mix well. Spread in a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread potatoes over top; bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese; bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
