Serves 4 to 6
1 to 1-1/2 lbs. beef round steak, cut into serving-size pieces
1 to 2 T. oil
1 onion, halved and sliced
1 carrot, peeled and shredded
4-oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
10-3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
8-oz. can tomato sauce
Brown beef in oil in a skillet over medium heat; drain and set aside. Arrange vegetables in a slow cooker; place beef on top. Mix together soup and tomato sauce; pour over beef and vegetables. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 hours, until beef is tender.
