The Seafarer’s Wife

Will she remain devoted to her vows, or will she give in to the temptations of the flesh?

“Thank you for signing this contract—at long last,” the operations officer said. “We’ve been looking forward to this moment for a very long time.”

She smiled confidently. “I wanted to make sure that my investments will go into good hands.”

She walked towards the door of the wide conference room. Several people tried to follow her, only to be blocked by her bodyguards.

“Why have you finally decided to invest in them?” her secretary asked as she followed her to her executive office.  “Aren’t your stocks more than enough to support you?”

“Well,” she started. “The Chief Executive Officer has been begging me for months. This will finally get him off my hair.”

Of course, that was a lie, at least partly. Because of this investment, the more reasons the CEO will have an excuse to spend time with her.

One of her assistants opened the door for her. She carefully touched the full black leather of her executive chair before she sat down. She pretended to arrange the papers on her desk as she thought deeply, remembering the night before.

The CEO personally went to her house to ask her to invest in their startup company in the food industry. Actually, the CEO was her former colleague in graduate school. He has always been persistent with her, even after he knew she had already gotten married to her husband. He continued to pursue her, searched for her, and pleaded with her, initially during their graduate studies, offering marriage, and now, many years after, his company. He even told her that he could make her his chief financing officer.

She had always been good with money. For almost 10 years of her married life, her husband had always entrusted his finances to her. He trusted her visions, and she had always been honest about where she put the money, where she invested it, and how she spent it. In almost 10 years of their married life, she was able to afford a posh household and a luxurious lifestyle, and she could even occasionally travel around the world, albeit alone. Since her husband had almost been constantly abroad, onboard his sea vessel where he served as captain, very seldom could they meet face-to-face. She most often traveled alone, but she hasn’t been lonely because she surrounded herself with the company of her different lovers.

With her husband rarely home, she needed to feel affection and romance. And last night was one of those nights when she gravely missed her husband. She had just come home from one of her meetings at the stock market when the CEO came knocking at her door.

“I’m here to encourage you, plead you, beg you even,” he said. “Be my investor.”

“Have you always been this persistent?” she asked.

“I think you know firsthand how persistent I can be.”

He entered the door.

“Coffee?” she offered.

“Water would be delightful.”

As she turned her back and walked towards the kitchen, she suddenly felt something hard behind her. She turned around and saw the CEO up close behind her. He kissed her neck.

She held his head, and they kissed. “Just like the good old days,” he said. “You should have married me. You won’t be alone like this.”

“Then you wouldn’t have an investor if I were your wife,” she responded, her stoic tone matching her nonchalant façade. His words irritated her, really, but she was horny.

He cupped her breasts and touched her from underneath her panties. He pulled up her skirt and put her on the kitchen table. He took off her blouse and unzipped his pants. He was stiff and erect, and he pounded on her like a mechanical rabbit with newly-charged batteries. She knew he was having so much fun. She looked at him straight in the eyes, and she could see he was ecstatic.

“Hey,” her assistant said, bringing her back to reality. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah. I was thinking about the next meeting for today. Where am I off to?”

“Well, you will have an early off today. I already asked your maid to do the groceries for you. By 8:00 tonight, you’ll have dinner with some of your friends from graduate school—”

“Cancel that. Send my word that I can’t make it because I have an early flight tomorrow. Oh, and tell my maid to grab me some Mediterranean dinner before she goes home for the night.”

She never let her maids stay in her house because they would know all her secrets, and she didn’t want them revealed. Her guards stayed inside the gated residence, and there were dogs to keep her and her property safe. But inside the house, it would just be her. She preferred to be alone like that.

As she went home, she took her dinner alone, and she readied herself for a long, hot bath before going to bed. She was taking off her clothes when she felt that she was being watched. She never put her blinds down because she knew he was watching. She enjoyed letting him watch. But tonight was not one of those nights. Scantily clad, she went to her window. She knew the exact position of her watcher. She even knew him. He was the son of her neighbor, about 20 years her junior,  and though their properties were far apart, she knew very well that the young man could afford a very powerful pair of binoculars that could bridge the distance between them. She looked intently at the direction of her watcher and beckoned him to come. She advised her guards to let him come inside her house because she needed help with her computer. Her guards knew the guy, and they believed that he was an honest young man.

Fifteen minutes later, he was there at her doorstep. When he saw her, she saw his eyes widened with excitement. Still scantily clad, she mentioned him to sit beside her on the sofa. He nervously sat beside her and asked, “You’ve known all along that I was watching you?”

She nodded.

He blushed. “You know I’m in a gap year, and my parents won’t be....” He paused nervously, biting his lips. “Are you going to tell my parents or call the police?”

“No, if you won’t tell anyone about what we will be doing here tonight.”

He swallowed nervously, but she could feel him getting hard. She took his hands and guided them towards her breasts and the middle of her thighs. She pushed him and let him lay down on the sofa while she rode him.

With every thrust, she could see he was ecstatic.

She woke up early the following day, memories of last night still lingering in her mind. He was inexperienced and an obvious amateur. She sent him home immediately after a round.

She didn’t have an early flight like she asked her assistant to tell her colleagues from the graduate studies. She just wanted to avoid seeing the CEO. She knew that he would be all over her during the meet-up, with him reliving how she repeatedly said no to his offer of marriage. She didn’t want that kind of drama.

She opened her laptop and waited for her husband to call. After a few minutes, there was a notification of an incoming call. She immediately answered, believing it was her husband.

“Hi,” she answered excitedly.

But instead of her husband, her mate from graduate school, one of those she was supposed to meet last night, appeared on the screen.

“Oh, it’s you,” she commented, rolling her eyes. “See, I’m waiting for my husband to call...”

“Well, we missed you last night,” her mate said, completely ignoring her comment. “I have some terrible news that I shared with the rest of the group that you weren’t able to know because, well, you weren’t there,” her mate continued.

“This isn’t a good time, really...”

“Well, you know THE CEO from the graduate school,” her mate pressed on, as if not hearing any word she just said. “Well, I learned from his wife that he has been having affairs—several affairs, actually, for the past several years." She paused dramatically. “Some of them are from our graduate studies.”

"So?"

"So, the wife filed for divorce and was about to leave the country, but she was required to have a medical exam as per protocol. And guess what?”

“What?” she begrudgingly said, rolling her eyes again.

“She tested positive for HIV. So last night, we were all expecting the CEO to come with us like he usually does, but he wasn’t there. Maybe he already knew about his wife testing positive.” She paused for a second before she continued, “We talked all night about him and how HIV can be transmitted. He may have that, too, if he has not been careful with his other partners...or maybe he got it from one of them. There are so many available treatments for HIV these days...”

She blinked, and her mate continued speaking in a dry soliloquy. And after a few more agonizing minutes, her mate said goodbye and ended the call.

She stared blankly at her laptop screen, with the words of her mate repeatedly echoing in her mind. “He may have that, too, if he hasn’t been careful.” “Maybe he got it from one of them...”

The black laptop screen suddenly lit up to notify her of an incoming call. She carefully slid the green button to answer it.

“Hi, Love. How have you been? The connection was a bit difficult these past few days because there was a hurricane in the nearby country. But don’t worry, my Love, I’m safe.”

“Hi!” she said excitedly as if she hadn’t been paralyzed with such heavy information a few moments ago. “I’m so happy to see your face again. I missed you very  much.”

“And I, you, my love. Any updates?”

“Well, our investments in the stock market are going well. As in really well. So I invested in a fast food chain, a startup that was founded by my colleague from the graduate school.”

“So, you finally said yes to that bloke?”

“Yes. But I didn’t invest that much. Just a mere half of what we usually invest. That would keep him off my hair.”

“Of course, whatever you say.”

“So,” she smiled coyly. “Are you ready for me?”

“Oh yes. I have nothing on my mind but you.”

She slowly undressed herself without breaking eye contact. She could hear her husband’s low groans. She positioned herself directly in front of the camera so that he could see her—the whole of her.

As she writhed and whirled, she could see he was ecstatic.

And for the first time during the past few days, she smiled.
