FAB FACT

Instructed by Martin to get writing more songs as quickly as possible, ‘From Me To You’ was written on the tour bus between shows on the Shapiro tour. Cleverly, they incorporated the harmonica and falsetto leap that had worked so well in ‘Please Please Me’.

FAB FACT

Both songs were inspired by letter writing with ‘From Me To You’ taking its name from the letters page in the NME magazine, titled ‘From You To Us’, and ‘Thank You Girl’ influenced by their fan mail.

FAB FACT

‘From Me To You’ spent seven weeks at number one, knocked off the top spot by another Epstein-managed Liverpool band, Gerry and the Pacemakers, with ‘I Like It’.
