I moved to Florida a decade ago and I love it here. I grew up in Southwest Georgia, near the Georgia–Florida line, so I visited the coast of Florida growing up. This beautiful state has always held a part of my heart. But I’d never traveled much of the state beyond the panhandle. The peninsula is also beautiful, and Sarasota is one of those beautiful spots. Pinecraft is a small community of Amish in this area. It started as a fishing camp and getaway during the winter and has now grown into a quaint Amish village. What better place to write about the Amish?
Especially a story about a young woman who’d never left Campton Creek, Pennsylvania. Eva wanted to see the world, so when her doctor and her aunt encouraged her, she took off to Pinecraft and found her heart. Tanner loved this place, too. But he couldn’t relax and enjoy the beauty around him. He worried too much and tried to protect his child. I’m glad these two found each other and I know Eva will be a great source of love for Tanner and Becky.
Life is like that sometimes. When I first moved to Florida, as much as I loved it, I missed the life I’d left behind in Louisiana. But one day I looked out the window and thought, Lenora, you live about six miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Start enjoying it. So I did. I have always believed in blooming where you’re planted. If you’re in a spot where you’re unsure about things, remember to look up and see the beauty around you. It’s there. Eva and Tanner found it. I hope you will, too.
Until next time, may the angels watch over you. Always.
Lenora Worth.
