With the vial of Rose’s blood in my hand, I rush to my rooms, eager to watch Eulle and Opaline work on Rose, but also to find out who or what Rose is. I have never experienced anything like what happens when near her, the way my blood sings and burns. I still cannot figure out what her lineage is, something is off.
“Out!” I snarl to the Lords sitting in my outer chambers, discussing some aspect of life in the caves. They jump at my voice and scurry out, only Azazarel doesn’t leave.
“Sire, what is wrong?” he asks.
I glare at him, feeling heat rising with my anger. “Out! And send me two slave women.”
The man has the audacity to smile, “Of course, Sire. Anyone in particular?”
“No, just as long as they are soft and female.” Hopefully, they can take slake my thirst for tonight. “Now go!”
I watch as the weasel like man scurries off, sighing once the doors are shut. I hurry to the closet and my screens. Here, I can watch while I analyze Rose’s blood. Ignoring the lights, I flip the screens on, magnifying the ones in Rose’ cell. She is still unconscious, so I turn the sound up then move over to the other side of the room where a long counter sits. On one end of the table, sits my microscope and slides, on the other, is the DNA extraction machine, Max something or other with a number after it. All I care is that it lets me figure out where each of my slaves and demons come from, lineage is important.
I take a syringe and extract a small amount of blood to place on a slide. I sit back in shock as I look at Rose’s blood. Demon blood is black, human blood is a reddish color, and angel blood is gold. Rose’s blood is an odd shade of red with gold flecks in it.
“It can’t be!” I exclaim rushing to the computer that is hidden in this room. I don’t think I will need the DNA to tell me who Rose is. I quickly find the image I want and read the prophecy written there. Rose will be mine! I will make sure of it, and she will bring about the change that will make this world fall at our feet. I knew her blood was special.
