His girl has no filter.
She speaks like the boys
in the locker room.
His girl knows how to party
but all that he ever takes her to
is posh places that she feels
so different in.
His girl is unlike any other
girls that he’s been with.
She’s not too simple
but she keep her head
up in the clouds
when it comes to love.
“It’s hopeless,” they tell him,
“It’s hopeless to fall
for a girl like that.
Stick to someone
who’s more cultured than she.”
I wish they knew what
it’s like to be me,
to be someone with a heart so pure.
I wish they knew of the things
we do when no one is around.
I wish they knew what hopelessness
is truly defined by the bigots
and his harem full of women
going crazier for his time
than I could ever go.
But he and I both know,
his time is split between
his work and his girl.
And I’ll let the world know, I’m his girl.
