LOVE POEM

1

You can’t fill
a shallow
dish

with a strong
faucet:
a

dribble, though,
will brim it
over

2

A baby wren
can’t
use

a whole squirrel
but a skinny
flow

of the lacywinged
will soon set
it off

3

You come on
like a comber
foaming

at the crest:
stir me
only

please as a
pond lap
slips
