There are two children in this family. At the time this session was held, Raelyn was an only child. (Images from her younger brother’s session are shown in the previous section.)

For this session, held in autumn at a pumpkin patch located near the beach, Raelyn’s mom dressed her in a cute fall outfit with a sweater, skirt, and hat. Tammy and the parents explored the site and found several places to shoot. The pumpkins made great props. Raelyn didn’t need any prompting to toss the hay around. It was an activity she enjoyed. Her parents were photographed seated with their little actress. Their backs were turned to the sun so they didn’t squint, and because Tammy exposed for their skin tones, the background became nicely overexposed, to obliterate the crowds and background clutter.

Raelyn has been photographed in three separate sessions—at home, the studio, and at two different parks among the pumpkins. Photographers can fairly easily interest their clients to have their kids photographed at specific ages when they are very young. Choosing different session intervals and sites adds pictorial interest.
