Under the artistic direction of Kirsten Dehlholm, Hotel Pro Forma has developed a worldwide reputation for being one of the most provocative, inspiring and innovative production companies in the experimental performing arts. Atelier Hotel Pro Forma creates artwork of undeniable beauty and quality which provokes and inspires new realisations and ideas in audiences and the involved artists, people and organisations. Their artworks are interdisciplinary and investigative and created through collaboration with a global outlook. The artists, people and organisations involved rethink and create exceptional works. Atelier Hotel Pro Forma includes the following projects: Internship Programme, Artists-in-Residence, Associate Artists, New Collaboration and other projects.
Hotel Pro Forma is constantly looking for new ways to collaborate, create new areas of artistic knowledge and improving on existing production methods and the use of technology in not only the performing arts but in the art world in general.
Hotel Pro Forma also offers a wide range of services and areas of collaboration available to other organisations including teaching, production management, international marketing and audience development. Performances occupy a space between construction and sensation, consciousness and intuition, concrete and abstract. It moves across the genres of theatre, opera, visual arts and concert. Every production is a new experiment and contains a double staging: partly of its contents and the space, and partly of the notion of theatre itself.
