Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble dedicated to offering creative alternatives to the conventional theatre by creating and presenting works that experiment with language, music, movement, form and ideas, and meld the strengths of theatrical tradition with innovation.
Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble belief in a theater as an art form that inspires, challenges, questions and entertains. This commitment reflected in their choice of repertory and the multi-ethnic composition of the Ensemble.
WORD/PLAY is Medicine Show's writers' reading series, now in its 28th season. It features 10 to15 readings of varied kinds: e.g. an established & an emerging writer; group readings for literary magazines or other groupings; stagings of a writer's work with actors/musicians & author present & often performing; Words Worth Singing.
