Teatro Nucleo,’The Core Theatre”, founded in 1974 in Buenos Aires by Cora Herrendorf and Horacio Czertok with the first name of Comuna Core and finally settled in Ferrara in 1978, is now their home where artistic research projects, creation and intervention defined operating since 2008.

In addition to the Cooperative Teatro Nucleo, the theatre is home to the CETT Center for Theatre in Therapy, the NPO VersoSud, and the Association of Community Theatre, which heads the Group Theatre The Community Pontelagoscuro and Women European Community.

Teatro Nucleo  is an independent theater for thirty years experience • permanent laboratory for research on the actor • initiatives for the protection of the theater as ritual • space for encounter and experience • the show, starting from self-drama actors • promotion of street theater as an autonomous art • Community participation in festivals, caravans, folk and urban culture • projects for therapeutic communities and prisons • training for health workers • theater pedagogy for young people and children .

In its lab, Teatro Nucleo explores possibilities and resources related to the movement and to work with the body as part of the training of the actor and focus on the development of individual creative potential in relation to space (immaterial-inner, real-exterior) and in particular to open space / urban/natural. Physical training is based on a review of the basic principles of physical theatre, contemporary dance, and Butoh.
