Lerke from Dale Garn (merino wool/cotton)

300g (10¹⁄₂oz) dark blue no. 6653

4.5mm (size 7) needles

Finished size: 45 × 45cm (18 × 18in)

CO 252 sts with blue yarn on a circular needle.

Row 1: *P2, k9, p2, tk1*.

Repeat from * to * 18 times.

Rows 2–3: As Row 1.

Row 4: *P2, k3, place the next 3 sts on a cn in front of the work while you knit the next 3 sts k. Then knit the 3 sts from the cn k, p2,

tk1*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Rows 5–7: As row 1.

Row 8: *P2, place the next 3 sts on a cn behind the work while you knit the next 3 sts k. Then knit the 3 sts from the cn k, k3, p2, tk1*.

Repeat rows 1–8 until the work measures 45cm (18in).

Assembly:

Sew in all loose ends. Stretch out the work to correct the width (the cables contract it), and sew the zip by hand (see Good Advice). Sew the openings on each side of the zip and finally sew together the top.
