250g (9oz) dark purple no. 4855

100g (312oz) light purple no. 4853

7mm (size 10) needles

Finished size: 40 × 40cm (16 × 16in)

CO 130 sts on a circular needle with dark purple yarn.

Row 1: Knit k1, p1 until the end of the row.

Row 2: Knit p1, k1 until the end of the row.

Continue with k64, p1, k64 and p1 until the work is done.

Row 3–6: Knit with dark purple yarn.

Row 7–20: *Knit k5 with dark purple yarn, follow the diagram (black square is light purple yarn) 3 times and then the next 13 sts in the diagram.

Finish with k5 in dark purple yarn and p1 (yo around the light yarn)*.

Repeat from * to * so that the back side is the same.

Repeat rows 3–20 so that you get 4 rows of stars.

Finish with 4 rows of dark yarn and cast (bind) off.

Assembly:

Sew in all loose ends and press (iron) the work carefully. Sew together the top and approximately 7cm (234in) on each side with kitchener stitches. Sew loops as described in Good Advice then sew the buttons in place.
