To get the diagonals of k st to tilt to the right or left, the sts have to switch places. Do this by using a cn.
SR means switch right; place 1 st on cn behind the work and knit the next 2 sts on the left needle k before you knit the sts on the cn p. This is 3 sts.
SL means switch left; place 2 sts onto the cn in front of the work and knit 1 st on the left needle p. Knit the 2 sts on the cn k. This is 3 sts.
CO 110 sts with orange yarn and knit k back. Continue knitting the base p on the right side and k on the wrong side in orange yarn. The cables are knitted k on right side and p on wrong side in pink yarn.
Row 1 (right side): P4, SR, SL, *p6,
SR, SL*. Repeat from * to * 8 times. The last 4 sts on the needle are knitted p.
Row 2: K4, p2, k2, p2, *k6, p2,
k2, p2*. Repeat from * to * until you have 4 sts left. These are knitted k.
Row 3: P3, SR, p2, SL, *p4, SR,
p2, SL*. Repeat from * to * until you have 3 sts left on the needle. These are knitted p.
Row 4: K3, p2, *k4, p2*. Repeat from * to * until you have 3 sts left on the needle. These are knitted k.
Row 5: *P2, SR, p4, SL*. Repeat from * to * until you have 2 sts left on the needle. These are knitted k.
Row 6: K2, p2, k6, *p2, k2, p2, k6*.
Repeat from * to * until you have 4 sts left on the needle. These are knitted p2 and k2.
Row 7: P1, *SR, p6, SL*. Repeat from * to * until you have 1 st left on the needle. This is knitted p.
Row 8: K1, p2, k8, *p4, k8*. Repeat from * to * until you have 3 sts left on the needle. These are knitted p2, k1.
Row 9: P1, k2, p8*. Place 2 sts on cn behind the work, knit 2 sts k and then the 2 on the cn k, p8*.
Repeat from * to * until you have 3 sts left on the needle. These are knitted k2, p1.
Row 10: Repeat Row 8.
Row 11: P1, *SL, p6, SR*.
Repeat from * to * until you have 1 st left on the needle. This is knitted p.
Row 12: Repeat Row 6.
Row 13: *P2, SL, p4, SR*. Repeat from * to * until you have 2 sts left on the needle. These are knitted p.
Row 14: Repeat Row 4.

*p8, 2 sts on cn behind the work, knit 2 sts k and then knit 2 on the cn k*.

Row 20: Repeat Row 18.
Repeat these 20 rows 5 times and cast (bind) off.
Pink edge:
CO 356 sts with pink yarn on a circular needle. Knit the first row without increasing. Start the next row with *yo1, k89, yo1, k1*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. In this way you increase with 2 sts in each corner. Continue increasing in the same way until the work measures approximately 5cm (2in) and you have 115 sts on each long side.
Knit 1 row p, but the 4 corner sts are knitted k.
Knit *k2tog, k113, p2. ktog, k1*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. In this way you decrease the sts around in each corner by 2 sts.
Continue casting (binding) off this way until the back part is approximately 5cm (2in).
Assembly:
Press (iron) the work gently on the wrong side.
Sew the zip in on the back piece (see Good Advice).
Place the back and front pieces wrong sides together and sew around the edge.
Sew the pink edge to the front piece by hand, fold around the edge and sew it to the backside. Sew on a red ribbon by hand, above the seam between the front piece and the pink edge.
