Embroidery and assembly:

Secure all loose ends and press (iron) the pieces.

Position the small flower in the centre of the black fabric and the two remaining flowers on each side. Pin the flowers in place and sew using small stitches in each tip. Sew the stems with green yarn using chain stitch. Position the leaves and sew.

Use a white coloured pencil and sketch out curved lines to come out of the flowers. It doesn’t matter if they are not identical. Sew with pink yarn using outline stitch. Sew French knots around the middle flower and a small pink flower in each corner made from five loop stitches.

Turn the fabric. Use a white pencil and draw a line around the work, approximately 2–3cm (34–114in) inside the edge. Cut out on the line using zigzag scissors.

Turn the work again; draw up a new line about 1.5cm (34in) inside the zigzag edge. Place the fabric on the green front piece. Use green thread to sew outline stitches through both layers along the line.

Press (iron) the work carefully on the backside. Place the front and back pieces right sides together and sew the pillow with fold as described in Good Advice: here the fold is on the right hand side.
