Materials

White linen, 10 threads per cm:

52 × 52cm (20¹⁄₂ × 20¹⁄₂in)

Back piece: 43 × 52cm (17 × 20¹⁄₂in) and

13 × 52cm (5¹⁄₄ × 20¹⁄₂in)

Zip 40cm (16in)

Yarn

DMC mouliné fine yarn:

4 skeins black no. 310

1 skein red no. 666

Sew with split yarn (3 threads) over 2 x 2 threads

Finished size: 50 × 50cm (20 × 20in)

Overstitch around the linen fabric before you start sewing. Find the centre of the fabric and place the subject about 1cm (³⁄₈in) above. Follow the diagram in the Patterns.

Assembly:

Sew in the zip on the back piece as described in Good Advice. Place the front and back pieces right sides together and sew around. Press (iron) the seams apart, cut off excess fabric at the corners and reverse the work.
