A team of interrogators worked on Martin for nearly two months and concluded he was a very skillful liar and that the organization recruiting him as an insider structured the relationship so no one ever got a peek at its inner workings. Martin claimed his contact with the company had been mostly through the mail. He used the data pager only a few times. He explained that the pace of government made the mail system a good means of keeping people advised, and he'd found his detailed reports sent by mail generally resulted in higher payments. Recent information did not generate any payments so either the information had no particular value or perhaps the other side knew that Martin was compromised.

"So, what do we do now?"

"Well, I frankly think we've gotten everything we are going to get, Admiral," the interrogation lead responded. "We can continue but I'm not convinced he's got much more to give. The truth is that his phone records and bank statements were the best sources of information. I think he is a low level paper pusher who saw a chance to make a few bucks and took it."

"I'll bring in the personnel people, and we'll try to discharge Martin from government service and see if they'll impose a lifetime ban on his working anywhere in the Federal government. I wonder how many others are working in this building right now that are reporting to some other organization?"
