This story is dedicated to my mother, Louise Clotilda Miller Jaeger, who loved yellow roses, taught me to read, wouldn’t let me teach my younger sister to read, regularly read aloud to us as kids, made sure we always got to the library, and was an engaging storyteller and talented poet.
