Lexington Vinegar Barbecue Sauce


MAKES ABOUT 2½ CUPS

cup cider vinegar

½

cup ketchup

½

cup water

tablespoon sugar

¾

teaspoon table salt

¾

teaspoon red pepper flakes

teaspoon ground black pepper

Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl with ½ cup of the defatted cooking liquid in step 5 and whisk to combine.
