Barbecued Half Beef Brisket

This smaller brisket will serve 8 to 10 people. Either a point cut or a flat cut brisket will work well here.

Substitute 4½- to 5½ pound brisket (either point cut or flat cut) for whole brisket and rub with only half of spice rub. Reduce cooking time on grill to 1½ hours and cooking time in oven to 2 hours. Reserve ½ cup of meat juices and reduce barbecue sauce to 1½ cups.
