ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Ronald M. Shapiro has had a rich and varied career as a civil rights and corporate lawyer, sports agent, entrepreneur, and business executive. He is the cofounder of the Shapiro Negotiations Institute, which has trained more than 250,000 people in the art of negotiation, in dealing with difficult people, and in learning the skill of being a great listener. He has not only represented Hall of Fame players such as Cal Ripken Jr. and Kirby Puckett but has advised an array of corporate and political leaders, helped settle a major symphony orchestra strike, diffused racial tension in a metropolitan police department, and helped find solutions to Major League Baseball’s owner-player and umpire conflicts.
