Once again, this whole course is based on the idea of "MODELING," in other words, not re-creating the wheel but looking to see what is working in the market and then getting as close to that as you can and publishing for profits!
So, let's get started...
Your book cover is one the reasons why readers will put money into your bank account simply because your book cover is visually appealing.
This is one thing you do not want to slack on because it will either make or break the success of your book business. Aside from your book content being good, the reader needs to make it to the point of clicking on your book, opening it and finding out if your content is even worth their time.
Your book cover is what's going to pull them into reading your book content. When creating your book cover what you will do is go to your chosen market inside of the Kindle Store.
For example, Kindle Ebooks > Romance > Paranormal > Vampire
Once you make it to the market you're going to publish your book in, which in this case would be "Paranormal Vampire Romances” you will search through the top 100 bestsellers inside of the market and study the book covers they have and model their elements.
You can do this by navigating over here:
https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Kindle-Store-eBooks/zgbs/digital-text/154606011/ref=zg_bs_nav_kstore_1_kstore and searching through categories that interest you.
Being different here is a PUBLISHING CRIME and will make you go broke without results faster than you think. You can be as hands-on in this process as you'd like, or leave the creativity to the graphic designer based on the research of your chosen market and what the other books look like as well.
We personally leave it to our designer and then compare our cover art to the books in our chosen market. Whether you want to be involved or not, you should be focused on these elements; title, cover, font style, models, themes, colors etc.
The best way to do this is to take screenshots or gather links of all the book covers in your target market and send them over to your graphic designer and have them design a bestselling book cover.
This method ensures that we aren't throwing our own creativity out into the marketplace but doing our due diligence and ensuring that the market will LOVE us and become RAVING FANS when they see our book cover.
www.fiverr.com andwww.upwork.com are our biggest gold mines for finding graphic designers to design our book covers. You can easily create a quick account and then start looking at their example work and message them if you're interested in their services.
This wraps up the first lesson in this 7-day publishing mini-course series. We hope you got a lot of value out of what was being taught and want you to apply what you learned.
Dig into the Amazon Kindle store and start looking around at book cover ideas and different niches you might be interested in publishing. This is purely for exercise and to build the habit and routine of doing research as you will be spending a lot of time in the Amazon store.
