Day 4 - How To Craft A Bestselling Description For Your Books

We hope you did your keyword and category research because now we are going to jump right into descriptions! "Blurbs" is the term you will hear a lot in the publishing world.

We aren't shifting gears here either when it comes to descriptions. We are going to play it the same way and model the bestsellers and perfect their style. The best way to do this is going over to the Top 100 Bestsellers in your category and look at their descriptions.

How are they formatted? What are they saying? How quick do they wrap up the contents of the book? Do the first couple of lines sell you? Is the description attractive?

You should be asking yourself these questions when researching because we want these elements to play a part in the creation of our description.

Now, we aren't the best copywriters in the whole wide world but we do know how to outsource and we suggest you follow our lead onwww.fiverr.com and type in "copywriting" and let them know what you're wanting to get done.

You should look to outsource as much as you can so you can play a publisher role. This means you sit back while everyone else works and focus your attention on the things you do best in your business.

We won't be able to determine what your strengths and weaknesses are right now, but you will as you move along in your publishing journey, so just keep this outsourcing in the back of your mind.

This is a very short lesson because it's pretty straight forward. There is no magic pill or remedy to the description other than making it relevant, catchy, summed up and attractive enough to sell the reader. If you can do these four things every time you publish a book and match market expectations then you will BLOW your competition out of the publishing waters.
