Ed Morrison (JD/MBA) directs the Agile Strategy Lab at Purdue University. He pioneered the development of a new approach to strategy and complex collaboration in open, loosely connected networks. Prior to joining Purdue, he conducted strategy projects throughout the United States and China. His work won the first Arthur D. Little Award presented by the American Economic Development Council. Ed started his professional career in Washington, DC, where he served as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill, staff attorney in the Federal Trade Commission, and staff counsel in the US Senate. He has served several terms on the board of directors of the University Economic Development Association.
Scott Hutcheson (PhD) is associate director of the Agile Strategy Lab at Purdue University and a faculty member in Purdue University's School of Engineering Technology. His focus is on agile approaches to strategy and the science of collaboration. His writing has been published in academic journals, books, newspapers, magazines, and he has also written and produced short documentaries for television. Scott has received two best‐column awards from the Hoosier State Press Association, a Best Creative Nonfiction award from the Indiana State Library's Center for the Book, and his work for WFYI Public Television in Indianapolis was nominated for two Emmys.
Elizabeth Nilsen (MBA) is senior program director of the Agile Strategy Lab at Purdue University. Her background includes leadership of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) initiatives at local, regional, and state levels, as well as work with a number of higher education change initiatives. Her nonprofit experience includes program design and management, fundraising, operations, and executive leadership. Liz has authored a number of research articles as well as publications for organizations seeking to address issues of community vitality.
Janyce Fadden (MBA) is director of strategic engagement at the University of North Alabama, where she is the principal architect of Shoals Shift, a regional innovation initiative, which won a 2016 award from the University Economic Development Association and was a finalist for the 2018 Phi Kappa Phi Innovation Award. Janyce has an extensive private sector background, including leadership positions at Honeywell, General Signal, and Danaher Corporation, and serves on the board of directors for the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.
Nancy Franklin (EdD), principal of Franklin Solutions, collaborates with leaders of higher education, government, and business to facilitate strategic partnerships, innovation initiatives, talent development, agile planning, and program creation. Previously, she led strategic initiatives in community–university engagement and technology in teaching and learning at Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Indiana State University after an early career with IBM and ROLM. Nancy has been inducted into the Academy of Community Engagement Scholars and currently serves on the University of Pennsylvania Executive Doctorate Alumni Advisory Board.
